Insurance Carriers Rejecting Inspections – Don’t get caught with fraudulent inspectors

Insurance carriers are rejecting inspection reports every day from unqualified inspectors across the country and homeowners are paying the price. Don’t get caught having to pay for two inspections. Here are some tips.

1. Use a qualified company only. Verify and qualify your company.
2. Do not choose on price of inspection as you will probably end up paying twice for the same service.
3. Do not use an inspector that will guarantee at least the cost of the inspection with insurance savings or the inspection is free. Insurance carriers frown at this because of the conflict of interest. It is likely that the carrier will not accept this report and you may have wasted $150.
4. Make sure your inspection company has been in business at least 5 years.
5. Make sure the inspector conducting the inspection is qualified to conduct wind mitigation inspections. Here is a list of some of the qualifications:
a) Certified Wind Inspector with the My Safe Florida Home Program.
1) These inspectors must work under a WCE approved by the Department Of Financial Services.
b) Licensed contractor, engineer, and architect.
1) These inspectors must physically inspect your home. Do not accept inspectors using pre signed forms as it is very likely that your report will be rejected by your insurance carrier.
6. Ask your inspector what insurance he carriers. All inspectors should carry at least a $1,000,000 policy for general liability insurance.
7. Ask if the inspector was background checked and approved to enter your home. You do not want unqualified individuals entering your home.
8. Ask you inspector if they will be providing photographs. Insurance carriers need back up pictures and documentation to verify the results of the inspection.
Don’t lose credits or discounts because of untrained, unqualified or unscrupulous inspectors.
All inspectors for Ameripro meet the above requirements, and more. All are subject to stringent recruitment and training programs in addition to back ground checks and drug enforcement policies.
